This beautifully designed official first day cover is affixed with the two domestic rate (52¢) International Polar Year stamps. These stamps feature a brilliant-red deep-sea jellyfish (Crossota millsaeare, recently discovered-appears on stamp in its actual size) and a male king eider (Somateria spectabilis). The stamps are joined by an ink bleed—a first for Canada Post—and a unique maple leaf perforation pin. Cancelled in Igloolik, Nunavut.
